This week, we want to take the time to appreciate the truly innovative way that Black Gotham Experience uses Legal Graffiti:
Black Gotham Experience weaves the untold stories of the African diaspora through the familiar streets New York City. Founded in 2010 by Kamau Ware, the organization connects people of today with forgotten people of the past through interactive walks, talks, events and art. In reimagining and recreating the spaces directly impacted by the African Diaspora, Black Gotham Experience bridges the gap between the academic and the visual, exposing the socio-cultural impact of the African diaspora that is missing from the collective consciousness.
